A South Salt Lake man sprayed SWAT team members with bear repellent in January when they raided a residence near 300 East and Redondo Avenue.
The Salt Lake County SWAT team served a search warrant early this year in connection with an ongoing investigation at the residence, according to charges filed Tuesday in 3rd District Court. As they stormed the residence, a 50-year-old man sprayed bear repellent on four SWAT team members.
A search of the residence turned up marijuana, digital scales, bongs, a handgun and a magazine for a gun with 15 rounds in it, charges state.
The man faces four counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two other men apprehended at the residence also face charges, including possession of a controlled substance, in separate court cases.
