Hogle Zoo, 2600 E. Sunnyside Ave., will host a "Family New Year's Eve Countdown" at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31. This is also the closing night of "ZooLights!" until next year.
Hogle Zoo wants to give younger revelers a chance to cheer on the coming year by starting earlier than midnight. The first 200 kids in the Plaza by 8:30 p.m. will receive free party noisemakers and craft activities.
ZooLights opens at 5 p.m., so guests can come early, write their New Year's resolutions on Hogle Zoo's giant resolution list and enjoy the holiday lights before the countdown festivities begin in the main plaza.
