Louie Sakoda became the fourth Consensus All-American in Utah football history today when the Associated Press named him as its first-team kicker.
Sakoda joins defensive tackle Luther Elliss (1994), offensive tackle Jordan Gross (2002) and defensive back Eric Weddle (2006) as Utah's Consensus All-Americans.
Sakoda is now a first-team kicker on four of the five All-America teams that comprise the consensus team: American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Walter Camp Foundation, Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the AP. The fifth team, the Sporting News, will be announced Wednesday.
Sakoda was also named to the SI.com All-America team today as its first-team kicker. Offensive lineman Robert Conley and defensive lineman Paul Kruger were recognized as honorable mention All-Americans by SI.com.
