Three people were injured in a home invasion robbery late Monday in Salt Lake City.

About 11:15 p.m., three men, armed with a bat, gun and knife, and all wearing red bandanas over their faces, forced their way into a house near 300 South and 1400 West. Once inside, they asked the five occupants of the house about "the stuff," said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Snyder.

A woman, 22, was struck in the head with the bat several times and "began to bleed profusely," Snyder said. After the woman was struck, others in the house began fighting with the suspect, resulting in a 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old man also being struck in the head with a bat.

The three armed men fled the house. The three victims hit with the bat were taken to a local hospital in serious conditions.

The search continued Tuesday for the suspects but Snyder noted the victims were not being very cooperative with detectives. Investigators did not believe the attack was random.
