Sandy man accused of smearing feces in jail cell
An officer on duty Sept. 29 at the jail said all the sprinkler heads in the 43-year-old Sandy man's cell had been broken. Upon entering the cell, the officer discovered the man had also spread feces all over the cell, according to charges filed Monday in 3rd District Court.
The man has been in jail several times on charges of assault and burglary. Court documents state his court hearings had to be delayed numerous times because he refused to be transported from the jail. One entry states he could not be transported because of a "fight on the bus."
The man has been charged with damaging a cell, a third-degree felony.
