The First Presidency has announced plans to build a temple in Trujillo, Peru. This will bring the total number of LDS temples worldwide to 146 already in operation or in the planning and construction phases.
The new temple in Peru becomes the third temple in South America in the planning and construction phases, along with ones planned for Manaus, Brazil, and Cordoba, Argentina, bringing the total number of temples in South America to 17.
