Utah Utes gymnastics: Red Rocks give annual fan preview

The University of Utah women's gymnastics team, ranked No. 2 in this year's preseason poll, will stage its sixth annual Red Rocks Preview tonight beginning at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center.

Admission is free.

"We're going to run the preview just like a meet," said coach Greg Marsden, noting there will be band, cheerleaders and a video wall as well as kids' zones and free face-painting on the concourse.

In addition, free team posters will be available. After the Ute gymnasts compete in their intra-squad meet, they will sign posters for fans, who are encouraged to bring their cameras and get photos taken with their favorite Ute gymnasts or with life-sized team cutouts which will be on hand.

Season tickets will also be on sale during tonight's preview. The Utes' home schedule this season will include teams like UCLA (Jan. 9), Washington (Jan. 23), BYU/Southern Utah/Texas (Feb. 6), Michigan (Feb. 20), Arizona State (March 6) and Florida (March 13).

Utah, a 10-time national champion and the NCAA runner-up in each of the past three seasons, returns five All-Americans from last year's team.
