The Utah attorney general's identity theft reporting Web site is being upgraded.
The attorney general's office announced Thursday that IRIS the Identity Theft Reporting Information System now provides automatic reporting to the three major credit bureaus. It also offers ID theft prevention tips and public notices from businesses and government agencies about data breaches.
Since it was launched in April 2006, the Utah Attorney General's Office said, IRIS has helped nearly 20,000 ID theft victims. IRIS is designed to be a "one-stop shop" for victims to report identity theft and rebuild their credit and their lives by reporting it to police and credit agencies.
The Web site is at idtheft.utah.gov.
