Utah Jazz: Boozer out for Thursday's game vs. Portland
All-Star will miss his 12th straight game
MINNEAPOLIS Two-time All-Star power forward Carlos Boozer won't play when the Jazz face Portland at home on Thursday night, a team spokesman said early Wednesday morning.
It will be the 12th straight game missed by Boozer, who strained the quadriceps tendon over his left knee in a Nov. 19 game against Milwaukee.
The 14-9 Jazz are 6-5 in his absence, including Tuesday night's 99-96 win at Minnesota.
With Boozer out, backup and replacement starter Paul Millsap has nine straight scoring-rebounding double-doubles.
Boozer earlier had said he hoped to return either Thursday when the Jazz game against the Trail Blazers will be nationally televised by TNT or Saturday, when the Jazz host Orlando.
