PROVO Raymond Taras, professor of international relations and director of the World Literature Program at Tulane University, will present "A Europe of Phobias? How Immigration Is Making the EU Paranoid" Wednesday, Dec. 10, at noon at Brigham Young University's David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies conference room, 238 Herald R. Clark Building.
Taras has taught at universities in Canada, Denmark and England. He is the author of "Europe's Rising Islamophobia: The Impact on Foreign Policy" (published by the University of Utah Press in 2009), "Understanding Ethnic Conflict: The International Dimension" and "New States, New Politics: Building the Post-Soviet Nations."
He has been a volunteer with community organizations helping rebuild New Orleans, and he also lives part of the year in Salt Lake City.
