Denton, Texas, native George U. Hubbard's book, "When the Saints Came Marching in: A History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Denton, Texas, 1958-2008," chronicles Mormon history in the greater Denton area.
The church began with a handful of members in November 1959 and quickly encompassed Collin, Cooke, Denton, Montague and Wise counties. Today there are more than 10,000 who worship in dozens of meetinghouses that dot the area.
