SOUTH SALT LAKE Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at George's International Market just after 6 p.m. Thursday.
Police say a man went into the store at 2715 S. State, pulled a black handgun on the cashier and demanded money. The till was opened and the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robbery is the second to take place last week within a one-block radius. On Monday around 4:30 p.m., a man with a handgun took money from the nearby Jang Soo Jang Korean Restaurant at 2701 S. State and fled on a bicycle.
The robbers' descriptions are similar, but South Salt Lake police said it was too early to confirm if the same person was involved in both crimes.
"We can't say it was the same person, but everything seems similar to the robbery we had in the area the other day," said South Salt Lake Police Sgt. Gary Keller.
The man involved in Thursday's robbery is described as white, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 inches tall, a slim build with blond hair, wearing a yellow jacket with a hood.
