A South Jordan man has been charged with third-degree felony theft after police say he and a friend stole two purebred pit bull puppies back in April.
According to charges filed Wednesday in 3rd District Court, the man, 20, went with a friend to the home of a woman who was selling the puppies near 4600 West and 5400 South on April 8. The two men asked to see the paperwork on the puppies, then after seeing the documents, shoved the woman to the ground and took the puppies.
The men were seen leaving in a white car, and a man later approached the woman with the license plate number of the car.
The man's friend was charged with theft and simple assault in August. According to the charges, the man's friend said that the two went to the woman's home with the intent to steal the puppies.
