'Reaper' is returning

Hey, "Reaper" fans, only about three months until the show returns to The CW. Finally.

The horror/comedy series that started out good and got better last season has been on the network wannabe's backburner. "Reaper" didn't make the fall schedule, but at least CW Entertainment president Dawn Ostroff ordered 13 episodes as a midseason replacement.

Turns out it's a late-midseason replacement. "Reaper" returns on Tuesday, March 17, at 8 p.m.

At that point, the current occupant of the time slot, "Privileged," will have come to the end of its 22-episode first season.

The CW also announced a premiere date for its other midseason series, the horror/reality-competition show "13 — Fear Is Real." Filmed in the Louisiana bayou, 13 contestants compete to "stay alive" and one is "killed" each week.

When critics were shown a clip back in July, my first reaction was that I would have expected that the first network to actually kill reality show contestants would be Fox. But, of course, The CW isn't really killing anything (outside of a few brain cells of anyone who watches "One Tree Hill").

"You know, we'll do anything for attention here at The CW," Ostroff said of the whole "kill" thing.

Yeah, we know.

THE CW IS IN REPEATS until January. Here's when to expect new episodes:

• Monday, Jan. 5: "Gossip Girl" (7 p.m.) and "One Tree Hill"

• Tuesday, Jan. 6: "90210" and "Privileged"

• Friday, Jan. 9: "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game"

• Thursday, Jan. 15: "Smallville" and "Super-natural"

• Repeats of "90210" will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. (following "13 — Fear Is Real") beginning Jan. 7.

CBS HAS ANNOUNCED a few midseason changes of its own.

• "Game Show in My Head," in which contestants have to perform "extraordinary tasks on an unsuspecting public" to win up to $50,000, premieres Saturday, Jan. 3, at 7 and 7:30 p.m.

• The Canadian-produced cop show "Flashpoint," which aired on CBS this past summer, returns on Friday, Jan. 9, at 8 p.m.

• The 18th edition of "Survivor" debuts Thursday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m.
