PESHAWAR, Pakistan Pakistan's army says it has killed 30 militants in air strikes close to the Afghan border.
A military statement said the air strikes targeted militants in two areas of the Mohmand border region on Wednesday and were "highly successful." It provided no details.
U.S. officials are pressing Pakistan to up the pressure on Taliban and al-Qaida militants in their strongholds along the frontier, despite growing tension with India over the terror attacks in Mumbai.
Earlier Wednesday, police said a bomb hit a convoy carrying reinforcements to Mohmand and killed three soldiers and a civilian.
