And once again, there are playhouses (one's actually a garage), including two created by Weslee Robinson, a young man from Beaver who as a teen began making things for the festival. Kerr says support from Minersville, Beaver and Milford is legendary. The community puts its items on display and everyone turns out, then they pack it all up and bring it to the festival to be sold.
Tuesday night, the festival kicked off with an invitation-only silent auction and lights-on ceremony. The switch was to be thrown by Primary patient Andrew Felsted, son of Erik and Melissa Felsted. The festival itself opens from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily through Saturday at South Towne Expo Center, 9575 S. State. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and children 11 and under. Children younger than 2 are free. Discount tickets (save 50 cents each) are available at Zions Bank locations. Wednesday is Family Day and six immediate family members get in for $14.
