An unidentified man avoided paying his cab fare by brandishing a knife early Saturday.
The incident took place on state Route 201 after a taxi driver transported the man to the Magna area around 2 a.m., said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Steve Winward. When asked by the driver to pay his fare, the man pulled out a knife and exited the vehicle. Winward estimated the fare was less than $30.
The case has been turned over to the state Bureau of Investigation, which is seeking to identify the man, Winward said.
