BOOZER UPDATE: All-Star power forward Carlos Boozer missed a fifth straight game Friday due to a strained left quadriceps tendon and bruised kneecap, and doesn't plan to play tonight either.

But Boozer said Friday that he's "making progress."

"I'm getting there," he said. "I'm hoping (to return) maybe (in) the next week, maybe a little bit after that."

Whenever he does return, Boozer suggested he won't shy from playing in back-to-back games.

"When I'm back I'm back," he said. "When I'm healthy to play, I'll be out there full-time."

GO FIGURE: On this date in 1999, current Jazz assistant coach Tyrone Corbin (with Sacramento at the time) played his 1,000th NBA career game — a milestone number neither Larry Bird, Magic Johnson nor Jerry West ever reached.

TV TALK: Usual Jazz TV play-by-play announcer Craig Bolerjack is calling today's Georgia-Georgia Tech college football game for CBS, so Steve Brown is filling in over the weekend.

Sacramento swingman Francisco Garcia played Friday — his first game of the season after missing 17 with a strained right calf. ... Ex-Jazz big man Mikki Moore had four points and four rebounds in 21 minutes for Sacramento.
