Here are the latest TV shows to land on DVD, led by the sixth season of "Beverly Hills 90210," which features former BYU and NFL quarterback Steve Young!
"Beverly Hills 90210: The Sixth Season" (CBS/Paramount, 1995-96, seven discs, $59.98). Young appears in Episode 12, playing himself and sad to say, he's not very convincing. But fans may enjoy getting a glimpse of him nonetheless. The focus this season is on the descent of Kelly (Jennie Garth) into drug addiction, although that's just one of many soap-opera plots involving the 90210 gang.
Extras: full frame, 31 episodes
"Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.: The Final Season" (CBS/Paramount, 1968-69, four discs, $39.98). The fifth season wraps up the misadventures of Gomer Pyle in the Marines as he continues to drive his harried sergeant (Frank Sutton) to distraction. A variety of comic guests include Rob Reiner, Jamie Farr and Larry Storch, among others the highlight being Carol Burnett's return as a character she played in Season 4.
Extras: full frame, 30 episodes
"The Mod Squad: Season 2, Volume 1" (CBS/Paramount, 1969, four discs, $39.98). Clarence Williams III, Peggy Lipton and Michael Cole return as the trio of youngsters coerced into working undercover for the police. Carolyn Jones, Joe Don Baker, Dwayne Hickman and Daniel J. Travanti are among this season's guests.
Extras: full frame, 13 episodes
"The Big Easy: Season 2" (MPI, 1997, three discs, $29.98). Inspired by the movie that starred Dennis Quaid, this cable series features Tony Crane as a loose-cannon cop in pre-Katrina New Orleans. This season, unfortunately, doesn't keep up the quality of Season 1, and the show was canceled after 13 shows.
Extras: full frame, 13 episodes
