Jewels is a 5-year-old beagle mix. She is sweet and affectionate and seems to get along well with other dogs. She gets a little nervous around new people and might do best in a home that only has older kids. She is low-maintenance and will be an easy dog to have around.

Kermit is a 3-month-old domestic longhair. He gets along great with other cats, dogs and people. Like his brother, Thumper, who is also in the shelter, he really loves to play with other kittens and cuddle next to his favorite people in bed.

Adoption rates are $95 for dogs and $65 for cats, which includes sterilization, vaccinations, a microchip and free first veterinary exam. If you are interested in any of the animals, come to Salt Lake County Animal Services, 511 W. 3900 South, Monday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or call 559-1100 or go to: www.slcoanimalservices.org.
