ST. GEORGE Another teenager has been shot here with a blank loaded into a handgun.
The 14-year-old boy shot himself with a blank that was loaded into a starter pistol used in races, St. George Police Sgt. James Van Fleet said Wednesday.
"He shot himself in the stomach," he said.
The boy was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and later released. Police said it appeared to be accidental and the teen was back in school on Wednesday, apparently not seriously injured.
The shooting is the second involving blanks since Tucker Thayer, 15, was accidentally killed.
