A man accused of stealing a scooter last month didn't make it very far after his attempted heist, charges state.
According to charges filed Tuesday in 3rd District Court, the 22-year-old man tried to steal the scooter as it was parked outside Cafe Trang at 220 S. 300 West. As he was speeding out of the parking lot another vehicle hit him, and emergency personnel had to assist him on scene.
The Fallon, Nev., man is charged with theft, a second-degree felony.
