Student wins press contest

Jeremy Beckham, a senior history major at the University of Utah, won the McCarthey Family Foundation's essay contest on the role of a free press in elections. He received a check for $2,500 at the McCarthey Family Lecture Series.

The contest encourages dialogue about the role a free press should or should not play during a presidential election.
