WEST VALLEY CITY The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers 5-2 Saturday night at the E-Center.
The Grizzlies jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first period with goals from Jordan Hart, Mike Walsh and James Sixsmith. Mike Mole stopped all 13 shots he saw.
Justin Johnson added his first of the year for Utah in the second period as the Grizzlies extended their lead to 4-0 at 5:58 of the period.
Leading 4-2 in the third, Matt Craig put the game away for Utah with his first of the year, scoring unassisted as he picked up a Las Vegas turnover with 2:04 left in the game.
In total, Mole made a season-high 43 saves in the Utah win.
Dennis Packard (three assists) and Mike Walsh (one goal, one assist) had multiple-point games for the Grizzlies.
