PAYSON Police believe a man's body that was found Monday night in Payson suffered a self-inflicted knife wound and was not the victim of foul play.
Payson Police Lt. Bill Wright said preliminary reports from the state medical examiner's office indicate that the man had stabbed himself in the torso, which caused his death. Police have also recovered the knife.
"Obviously we plan for the worst," Wright said. "We want to make sure we treat it as a homicide until we know different."
The body was found just before 6:30 p.m. Monday by a man who was walking his dogs in an area being developed around 930 W. 1500 South, Wright said.
