Talk radio unbalanced

I agree with Russell Bender about the "Fairness Doctrine" and the lack of need for it (Readers' Forum, Nov. 20). However, if he thinks talk radio, as it exists today, balances out the alleged "liberal" mainstream media, he has been sucked into the sewer of Rush, Hannity and all the wannabe's who populate the airways. Consider who comprises the "major media." ABC, CBS and NBC only have 22 minutes a day to deliver the news. Rush and the herd are on 20 hours a day, pounding the same drum day in and day out. "Republicans good?Democrats bad."

Balance? What balance? Audience research has shown that a majority of listeners do not believe the made up garbage pushed by these gas-bags. I have been in the business more than 35 years and can tell you that Rush, Hannity and the rest make up most of it with little regard for truth and fact. So listen and enjoy, but don't swallow.
