Traffic checkpoint announced in Layton

LAYTON — Police here announced a traffic checkpoint scheduled this weekend on U.S. 89 and Cherry Lane.

The checkpoint will focus on highway safety including insurance and registration violations, DUI, license and seat belt violations and other issues, police said. The Utah Highway Patrol will be working with Layton police on the checkpoint, which begins Nov. 21 at 9 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m.
