Trial for man accused of murder on I-15 begins

Testimony began Tuesday in the case of Mohamed Daffalla Kabor, who is charged with killing Luis Trujillo, 17, by firing from a car at the youth, who was riding in another car, on I-5 on June 24, 2007.

Kabor, 19, is charged with first-degree felony murder; one count of obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony; and three counts of discharging a firearm from a vehicle, all third-degree felonies.

The trial is being presided over by 3rd District Judge Judith Atherton and evidence is being presented to a jury of four women and four men.

A former co-defendant associated with Kabor's case and who had other criminal charges lodged against him, Samuel Paul Krokaugger, was sentenced last month to serve several lengthy prison terms. Krokaugger, who at one point had four cases with multiple felonies pending against him, pleaded guilty as part of a complex plea bargain.
