SOUTH JORDAN — Kennecott Land and University Health Care have agreed to place a 150,000-square-foot health-care center in the Daybreak community to serve the southwest valley's growing population. It will be located at 11400 S. Daybreak View Parkway.

Rio Tinto's Kennecott Land is the developer of Daybreak and is working with the U. on a master plan for a multi-phase medical campus on up to 50 acres. Besides the multi-specialty health center, which will house primary and specialty care, radiology, pharmacy and vision services, plans later include a surgery and imaging center, AIRMED base and full-service hospital.

Ground will be broken on the new center next spring, and it will open in mid-2010.
