OGDEN Police have arrested two men accused of attacking a neighbor with a meat cleaver.
It happened early Tuesday morning on the 2800 block of Lincoln Avenue when Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg said two men were in the street creating a commotion.
"A guy went out to see what they were doing and they attacked him with a meat cleaver," Sangberg said. "They beat him to heck."
The 37-year-old victim was hospitalized in serious condition with a broken jaw, a cut on his head, black eyes and possible broken ribs. Sangberg said officers responding to a 911 call spotted the two assailants leaving the scene.
"They had blood all over them," he said. "They stated to officers that they just wanted to" mess someone up, Sangberg said.
The men, 28 and 18, were booked into the Weber County Jail on investigation of aggravated assault and several warrants.
