PAYSON — Police here are investigating a possible homicide after a person discovered a body Monday evening while walking his dog near an underdeveloped part of the city.

Payson Police Lt. Bill Wright said a man discovered the body of a male adult while he was walking his dog near 930 West 1500 South around 6:29 p.m. The man called an off-duty officer he knew, and police arrived on scene.

Wright said it looks like the man suffered severe trauma injuries that resulted in his death. Wright also said police are investigating the incident as a homicide until they receive information that indicates otherwise.

Wright said the body has not yet been identified.
