TAYLORSVILLE The city is suing the older brother of a graffiti artist to recoup costs they say they incurred while cleaning up the youth's handiwork.
According to a civil suit filed Monday in 3rd. District Court, the city claims the boy spray painted graffiti on the Jordan River Bridge near 800 West and 4800 South. Then, they claim, the boy struck again, this time tagging a fence near 4807 S. Brown Villa Cove in August.
Seeking to recoup $1,013 in repair costs, the city has filed suit against the boy's older brother.
"As (the boy's) legal guardian, defendant is liable for the damage," the suit states.
The city is seeking payment for costs associated with repair of the damaged property, attorney's fees any other relief deemed appropriate by the court, the suit states.
