Utah defensive back Deshawn Richard joined some elite company late in Saturday's 63-14 victory over San Diego State.

In a span of 70 seconds, the senior returned two interceptions for touchdowns — tying a school record that had been done twice before, most recently by Eric Weddle in 2006 at — you guessed it — Qualcomm Stadium.

"It was a good feeling, man. I enjoyed it," said Richard, whose "pick sixes" covered 89 and 38 yards, respectively. "It was a surprise but I was happy to get it."

Defensive coordinator Gary Andersen smiled when asked about the reserve's heroics.

"It was two great plays by him — right place at the right time,"

Andersen said. "Two great plays for him. Two scores. Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week."
