A man stabbed in the back while doing his laundry at a downtown laundromat has been upgraded to fair condition.

The 40-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was stabbed at the Century Cleaning Barn in Salt Lake City.

According to Salt Lake Police Lt. Scott White, the attacker, a Hispanic male about 20, entered the shop at 910 W. North Temple just after 5 p.m. Nov. 9. He then walked directly to the victim, stabbed him in the back and left.

The attack was believed to be part of a love triangle and was not random, said Salt Lake police spokeswoman Lara Jones.

The victim was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition.
