DRAPER The Utah Transit Authority will hold two public hearings to address options for a commuter rail station in the city.
UTA is considering four sites, including its original spot in the small city of Bluffdale. UTA owns six acres there.
The authority also is considering a spot in Draper at the junction of Bangerter Highway and the Jordan River, on land owned by the state and managed by the Department of Natural Resources. Acquiring land there could require state legislation.
The meetings will be Monday and Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m. The first meeting will be at Bluffdale Elementary School, 14323 S. 2700 West, in Bluffdale. The second will be at Willow Springs Elementary School, 13288 S. Lone Rock Drive (465 East).
Also Tuesday the Draper City Council will consider approving a development agreement among the city, UTA and Whitewater VII Holdings, which has plans for a development at yet another possible site for the commuter rail stop. The three groups have met several times in recent months.
