• Zion Canyon Field Institute announces a call for entries for "Zion Centennial Celebration" a juried photography exhibition celebrating Zion National Park's centennial.
The show will be held March 31-May 11, 2009, at the Canyon Community Center, 126 Lion Blvd., Springdale.
Professional and amateur photographers Utah photographers can submit black-and-white or color photos taken in Zion National Park within the past two years.
Each photographer may submit up to three images by way of digital files on CD. Entry fee is $25 for first image and $10 per image thereafter, or $45 total for three images.
There will be a $1,000 grand prize, and with the photographer's consent, an extra $500 will be awarded as a flat fee that allows Zion Natural History Association, at its discretion, to publish the winning image as a retail poster with photographer retaining overall copyright. Second prize is $250 and third prize is $100.
