NBA notes: Nuggets cut McDyess after trade with Pistons

DENVER — The Nuggets waived Antonio McDyess on Monday one week after obtaining him from Detroit along with Chauncey Billups and Cheikh Samb for Allen Iverson.

The move was expected as Denver tries to cut costs. McDyess' agent, Andy Miller, had said the chances of him playing for the Nuggets were "very low to zero."

McDyess, who had two previous stints with Denver, hasn't appeared in any games for the Nuggets since the trade.

The Pistons would welcome McDyess back, but they cannot sign him for 30 days.

NETS' HARRIS, HEAT's MARION OUT: New Jersey guard Devin Harris and Miami forward Shawn Marion both were held out of Monday's Nets-Heat game with injuries.

Harris has battled a sprained left ankle for several days. Marion aggravated his right groin Saturday in Miami's loss to New Orleans.

Marion got hurt in the first quarter against New Orleans while changing directions but was able to play through the pain. He got treatment Sunday and again before the game Monday, but because he was still experiencing soreness, the team decided it was best to hold him out.

PISTONS' STUCKEY TESTED: The Pistons will begin their West Coast road trip without guard Rodney Stuckey, who experienced symptoms of lightheadedness and dizziness in Sunday night's loss to Boston.

The Pistons say Stuckey remained in Detroit for testing and is listed as day to day.

Stuckey squatted with discomfort in the second quarter, then stood with his hands on his knees. He later patted his chest rapidly while talking to the team's strength coach Arnie Kander, who said afterward that Stuckey was fine.
