For me, one of the most interesting questions in the election was how many people will give Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. a slap by sending him the message "I would rather vote for Dell "Superdell" Schanze, a man most agree is a wingnut?"
Maybe some people thought Schanze would be a good governor, but rational people say they were voting for him as a reminder to our current governor that they hadn't forgotten his actions in the soccer stadium situation.
The letter from another reader saying he feared the misguided and delusional voters who voted for Schanze made me gape in wonder (Readers' Forum, Nov. 7).
Does society really need to be protected from those who vote their conscience? I can happily live with those who, for whatever reason, voted for "Superdell." Just protect me from David E. Jensen and his ilk.
