Avoid name-calling

In recent news reports, protesters have been seen holding signs that criticize "Mormon Bigotry" and repeatedly refer to Mormonism as a religion of bigots. This not only saddens members of the church, it saddens many citizens who have typically viewed Mormons as morally clean, kind and conscientious citizens. While the right to free speech must be protected in America — and I fully support the right of people to protest what they believe to be a loss of civil rights — to call Mormons or anyone else bigots does not give many any sympathy for their cause. Let's not throw around names like "bigot" or "intolerant" lest we become the very thing we decry.
