WOMEN'S SOCCER: The Thunderbirds led with four minutes left but gave up a late goal and then surrendered a second-overtime goal in a 3-2 loss to Oakland University in the first round of The Summit League Soccer Championships on Friday.

Southern Utah (7-10) got goals from Erica Berlin and Kristen Fronk.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: The Thunderbirds recorded a 68-53 victory over Adams State on Friday in the team's final exhibition game before the season-opener against Mesa State on Nov. 15. Friday's game gives the Thunderbirds a perfect 2-0 exhibition record, while Adams State drops to 1-1.

Davis Baker and Tyler Quinney led all scorers with 20 and 18 points, respectively.
