With the Cougars' defense under fire the past couple of weeks, the senior linebacker played brilliantly with 14 tackles and an interception in his final home game.

San Diego State came on a blitz, and Max Hall made the Aztecs pay, finding Austin Collie on a deep post pattern for a 61-yard touchdown pass that extended the Cougars' lead to 34-6.

KEY CALL

After pounding the ball on the ground for most of the first half, the Cougars caught the Aztecs off guard by going deep to Michael Reed, who was streaking down the left sideline for a 56-yard reception that set up a score midway through the second quarter.

QUOTABLE

"It will take continued performance and effort in the next couple of weeks in order to complete our goals."
