Artist to appear at local spots

James C. Christensen will kick off a major press tour celebrating the release of "Men and Angels: The Art of James C. Christensen" with appearances at several local art galleries and bookstores.

The book is the most extensive collection of Christensen's body of work ever assembled in one publication and the first to be released in more than 15 years. New limited edition prints and bronze sculptures will be on exhibition, and Christensen will be on hand to talk about his work and sign prints and books. Here's the schedule of events:

Friday, 5-8 p.m.: Windowbox Gallery, 62 W. Center, Provo.

Saturday, noon-1 p.m.: Deseret Book, 1110 E. Fort Union Blvd, Midvale.

Saturday, 3-7 p.m.: Twiggs & Moore Gallery, Gardner Village, 1100 W. 7800 South, West Jordan.

Dec. 5, 6-9 p.m.: Canyon Gallery, 265 Mountain Road, Fruit Heights.

Dec. 6, noon-1 p.m.: Deseret Book at Salt Lake City Library Urban Room, 215 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City.

Dec. 6, 6-9 p.m.: Repartee Frameworks & Gallery, University Mall, 575 E. University Parkway, Ste. J-168, Orem.

Dec. 12, 5-7 p.m.: Repartee Gallery at Deseret Book, ZCMI Center, 36 S. Main, Salt Lake City.

Dec. 13, noon-1 p.m.: Deseret Book, Layton Hills Mall, 1096 Layton Hills Mall, Layton.
