A man police say is a serial peeping Tom made his first court appearance Thursday on new charges of lewdness, voyeurism and burglary.
Brian Richard Lee, 44, appeared in Salt Lake City's 3rd District Court where court records say he was appointed a public defender. He remains in the Salt Lake County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Lee is accused of hiding in a shower in the Brighton High School girls locker room Oct. 29, as a dance recital was under way. Police say Lee has a long history of sneaking into girls locker rooms to spy on them in Davis and Weber counties.
Police and prosecutors have expressed frustration that Lee's convictions never amount to getting him placed on the sex offender's registry. Of these latest charges, the Salt Lake District Attorney's Office said the heaviest is a third-degree felony, which carries a potential punishment of up to five years in prison.
