LOGAN — The Utah 911 Committee has approved more than $500,000 for a new 911 call center in Logan.

The city will receive approximately $508,000 for the Sentinel Patriot Incident Response System as part of the new 911 call center. The center will be completed by January 2009 and will provide service to all communities within Cache County.

Currently, Logan's consolidated dispatch center provides 911 service to about 121,000 people. That number is expected to grow to 150,000 over the next five years.
