A survey suggests recycling is catching on with Utahns.
Dan Jones & Associates conducted a poll of 803 Utahns for the state Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste last July and August.
The survey showed 87 percent of those polled think recycling is important, while 94 percent said their attitude toward recycling is more positive than it was five years ago. Access to recycling services has improved in some areas of Utah, but 66 percent of respondents said they want more than what's currently available.
Most of those polled live along the Wasatch Front, with about 24 percent living in rural areas. For the complete survey results, visit www.hazardouswaste.utah.gov/recycling_survey_2008.pdf.
