The list of guys who won't or might not participate in tonight's Utah Jazz-Los Angeles Clippers game continues to grow.
And it isn't just players.
The Jazz will be without coach Jerry Sloan, who was under the weather and missed this morning's shootaround.
The injury bug will keep fans from watching an intriguing Deron Williams-Baron Davis match-up (7 p.m. at EnergySolutions Arena). Williams is likely out until at least next week with a sprained left ankle, and Davis left the Clippers' home game Friday night with an injured hip.
Davis, the former Golden State star who joined L.A. as a free agent this past offseason, left the Clippers' eventual 113-103 overtime loss for good in the second quarter. Davis, who is also nursing an injury to his left ring finger, was not expected to travel to Utah today, according to a report on Realgm.com.
That could lead to a starting point guard battle between Williams' two backups from last year: Ronnie Price vs. Jason Hart.
Utah might also be without backup shooting guard Kyle Korver, who sprained his right, shooting wrist in the Jazz's season-opening win Wednesday over Denver. Korver received a cortisone shot Friday, and was optimistic after shootaround today that he would play tonight.
Korver is officially listed as a "game-time decision," according to a team spokesman.
"It's pretty sore," Korver said of his wrist this morning. "But it feels better every day."
Backup big man Jarron Collins (triceps tendinitis) is "questionable" for action tonight, and Matt Harpring (ankle rehab) will not play for Utah.
On the bright side for Utah, Andrei Kirilenko participated this morning after missing Friday's practice for what team described as being non-injury-related personal reasons. Utah's new sixth man will play tonight.
Los Angeles will likely go without another of its main guys: Marcus Camby isn't expected to play because of a heel injury.
