Utah Jazz: Knight doesn't know these Clippers

The first of many "Brevin Knight-Former Employer Reunions" will take place tonight at EnergySolutions Arena when the Utah Jazz host the Los Angeles Clippers.

For the new Jazz backup point guard, that will be a common theme over the next six months.

Knight, who made eight stops in NBA towns prior to Salt Lake City, will face his old teams 21 times during the 2008-09 season.

Pardon Knight if he doesn't get too nostalgic or party too hearty tonight. These Clippers hardly resemble the group he played with last year, his only campaign in SoCal. Just five guys return to the Clips from 2007-08, and that list doesn't include Elton Brand (Philadelphia) and Corey Maggette (Golden State).

The post-Knight version has nine new faces, including Baron Davis, Marcus Camby and Jason Hart, whom Utah sent back to L.A. in exchange for Knight this summer.

"It's a different team," Knight said, "but you know they're going to come out and play hard."

If you've had a hard time keeping up with Knight's plethora of pit stops, you're not alone. Thursday night on TNT's humorous "Who He Play For?" segment, NBA analyst/goofball Charles Barkley mistakingly guessed that Knight is currently on the Orlando Magic's roster.

Oops. Missed it by that many thousands of miles.

Hard to blame Barkley for the bad guess, though. Knight has made quite the Tour de NBA during his previous 11 seasons, featuring stops in Cleveland, Atlanta, Memphis, Phoenix, Washington, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Los Angeles and, now, the Beehive State.

INJURY UPDATE: Jazz backup shooting guard Kyle Korver's availability for tonight's game has been changed from "probable" to "game-time decision."

Korver sprained his right wrist in Wednesday's season-opening win over Denver. He has missed the Jazz's last two practices, and on Friday had the wrist re-examined by Jazz physician Dr. Lyle Mason.

Test results were negative, Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor said.

The Jazz continue to call would-be starting point guard Deron Williams "doubtful" for tonight.

Williams, however, has said he probably won't return from his sprained left ankle until Wednesday's game vs. Portland. He didn't practice for a second-straight day Friday as well.

Reserve forward Matt Harpring (ankle rehab) did practice Friday, but remains out indefinitely.
