CEDAR CITY Police are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains near here.
A dog wandering in a wash brought a shoe with a foot still inside it back to its owners on Saturday, Iron County sheriff's detective Jody Edwards said.
"It was mostly a skeletonized foot," he said Monday.
Cadaver dogs found the rest of the body. Identification found near the remains leads authorities to believe it may be a California man, Michael Draeger, 49, reported missing in October 2007. His car was found in Cedar City in April.
The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office to confirm the identity, Edwards said.
"There was no obvious sign of foul play at the scene or on the body," he said.
