CEDAR HILLS — When the homeowner's away, this burglar will play.

Then he'll eat your food, sleep in your bed and sell some of your personal effects at a pawn shop.

Police say a Pleasant Grove man, 22, broke into a Cedar Hills home back in late July, when the homeowners were gone, and stayed at the residence for several days. He ate their food, slept in their beds and even took the liberty of unloading some of their belongings at a pawn shop in Midvale.

American Fork police tracked down the stolen loot on the state pawn database. When officers confronted him, the man admitted to the burglary and theft, police said.

Officers booked the man into the Utah County Jail for investigation of burglary of a residence, theft by deception and theft. Bail has been set at $5,000.
