COALVILLE — Westbound I-80 was closed in part of Summit County on Sunday after a rollover crash killed one person and sent four others to hospitals.

Ty Richins, 40, of Syracuse, was killed when his pickup truck rolled just east of Coalville at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Steve Winward.

The truck was pulling a camp trailer and a Jeep through the winding road, and Winward said excessive speed appeared to be what caused the crash.

Richins' father was flown to Ogden Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Two teens and a family friend were taken by ambulance to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The freeway was closed for about two hours while police investigated the crash.
